Events Coming Up This Month...
We are excited to be a part of several races throughout our state this month, benefitting some great causes. We hope to see you at the races soon!

November 5- RUN 2 the ARTS 5K Color Run & Fun Run, Clinton- Join us for our second annual Sampson County Arts Council 5K Color Run and Fun Run- a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness and individuality. As a non-profit organization, we are excited to be presenting this color run to raise money to support the arts in our community.
November 5- Bolt for Bikes 10K & 5K, Greenville- ENC AMBUCS is having a 10K, 5K, and 1 Mile-Walk on November 5th. ENC AMBUCS is a local charity providing adapted bikes to children with disabilities who are unable to ride a traditional bike. Join us and make a difference in the lives of local children!
November 5- Emery's Run, Wilson- October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month & Proceeds will benefit the Emery Feeding Center in honor of Emery Godwin. Race is on certified course, with chip timing and plenty of food and beverages after the race.
November 5- Strides Beaufort Lions for Diabetes Awareness Glow Run, Beaufort- Beaufort Lions Club 2nd Annual Glow Run Race will be a fundraiser for Lions Club International Diabetes for Awareness making donations to Leader Dog for the Blind-Canine Development Center, Juvenile Diabetes- JDRF and Project Superhero in Eastern North Carolina.
November 6- Dirty Vagabond 5K, Greenville- Join us on November 6 for this 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run / Walk to benefit Dirty Vagabond Ministries, an organization that provides Christian Youth Ministry to urban communities.
November 11- Craven Community College CVA 5K Run/Walk, Atlantic Beach- This run is to benefit the veteran students of Craven Community College in the form of scholarships, and oppurtunities to give back to the surrounding communities that support them. Please join us this Veterans Day in suppiort of our veterans on a wonderful wooded and beachfront course that is stroller friendly.
November 12- Battle of the Blues 5K, Durham- Who has the fastest runner...Duke fan or UNC fan? Let's find out at the 2nd annual Battle of the Blues 5K Fundraiser and 1 mile walk! The run will take place at 9:00 am on the American Tobacco Trail at CM Herndon Park in Durham. It benefits the family advisory groups for the Newborn Intensive Care Units at Duke Children's and UNC Children's Hospitals. Race for your NICU baby or in memory of a loved one and raise money for a good cause!
November 12- Sylvan Heights Bird Park Fly for Five, Scotland Neck- The 1st Annual Sylvan Heights Bird Park Fly for 5 Run will wind through the Park and surrounding area to provide a one of a kind race experience. During your race you will will pass lush aviaries that include some of the rarest birds from around the world. Your cheering squad will include flamingos, ducks, geese, swans, peacocks, and even an emu! After the 5k race there will be a non competitive family fun run/walk. The race will help to raise critical funds to support the education and conservation efforts of Sylvan Heights Bird Park.
November 12- The Great Commission 5K, Pink Hill- The 2nd Annual Great Commission 5K is hosted by Sandy Plain OFWB Church to help support short term and local ministry projects. Our 5K Run/Walk will be the same route that we did last November. This year we will also be hosting a 1 mile Little Feet for Jesus run for ages 2 – 6.
November 12- Mother Earth Ironclad Half Marathon & 5K, Kinston- The 2nd annual Mother Earth Brewing Ironclad Half-Marathon & 5k, brought to you via Ironclad Races Inc. and title sponsor Mother Earth Brewing. Ironclad Races Inc is a Kinston based non-profit corporation with a mission to produce sporting events in Kinston and donate all proceeds to local non-profit organizations and charities benefitting our community.
November 13- River Park Ramble 5K Trail Run, Greenville- This run supports River Park North's ongoing effort to connect youth with the outdoors. The trail run route is a 5K along our maintenance path through diverse wetland habitat, including ponds, marshes and swamps. Runners will be treated to a loop around our 31 acre pond currently closed to the public and beautiful views of our high quality cypress-tupleo swamp.
November 13- Sam's 5K Road Race, Greenville- Join us for the 9th Annual Sam's 5K, presented by Epsiolon Sigma Alpha, benefitting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital!
We are holding Sam's 5k in memory of our sister who passed away from cancer. 100% of proceeds go towards St. Jude Children's Hospital. We strive each year to have as many runners as possible to honor Sam!
November 19- Gobble Waddle 5K/10K, Smithfield- All the proceeds from the Gobble Waddle 5k and 10k run/walk go to support our local food ministries. The Thanksgiving holiday is a time of giving and it’s important to remember those in our community who need your help. With sponsorships and contributions, the Gobble Waddle has donated over 1,000 pounds of food in previous years.
November 19- Miles With Mitzi 5K & 1M, Kinston- This event was started after Mitzi Moye, the school's beloved advisor, was struck by a van on her morning run on June 24, 2015. The school community, along with friends and family, rallied together after the accident, running miles in her honor (#milesformitzi). The Miles for Mitzi 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk was created to honor Mitzi, celebrate her recovery, and to promote awareness of runner road safety. As we move into the second annual event, we have changed the name of the race from Miles FOR Mitzi to Miles WITH Mitzi to acknowledge Mitzi's miraculous return to running. This annual event will continue as a way to promote runner road safety and to facilitate students' community service projects. Net proceeds from the race will be donated to The Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program at Vidant and a service fund for SERV, the school's service organization.
November 19- Run for a Reason 5K, Greenville- Greenville Women's league presents the 4th Annual Run for a Reason 5K. Our service organization is dedicated to serving those in eastern North Carolina and Greenville, NC. Join Greenville Women's League for the 4th annual Run for a Reason, benefiting the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Foundation).
November 19- Shine a Light on Diabetes 5K Glow Run, Washington- Help bring awareness to Diabetes and join us for Shine a Light on Diabetes 5K GLOW Run. Sponsored by the Beaufort County Public Health Department. The race will begin and end at Festival Park, Washington NC. Each race participant will be given glow accessories to help glow through the night! Wear bright clothing too! Registration is only $15 and includes a long-sleeve shirt (by 11/5)!
November 24- Beau's Buddies Turkey Trot for Kids, Greenville- The Turkey Trot for Tots 5K is back again for 2016, held on Thanksgiving morning in Greenville. Bring a toy to donate to the kids at the Children's Hospital at Vidant Medical Center. This year's race features a re-designed, certified 5K route through the Westhaven subdivision.
November 24- Goldsboro YMCA Turkey Trot, Goldsboro- Join us for our 11th Annual Goldsboro YMCA Turkey Trot. Come start your Thanksgiving Day off right, by supporting this benefit run. The money from the race goes to support the CHANGE for Children program at the Goldsboro Family YMCA. The 5K & 10K races will start at 8am on Thanksgiving Day, November 24th. A 1-mile Fun Run will start at 8:30am. What a great way to spend Thanksgiving morning.
November 24- Twin Rivers YMCA Turkey Trot, New Bern- Gobble Gobble! Join us for our 9th Annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2016 at 8:00 AM in Taberna. The 5K course will go through the Taberna community. Everyone can participate; bring your parents, grandparents, aunts & uncles! You can participate as a runner, walker, dog/stroller jogger or wheelchair participant.
November 26- Kids First Turkey Trot, Elizabeth City- All proceeds from this event will benefit Kids First, Inc. Child Abuse Treatment Center, a nonprofit agency which serves over 200 abused children each year in Northeastern North Carolina. Kids First provides therapy services, forensic interviews, medical evaluations, and advocacy services for children who have been victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse, or witness to domestic violence. Our mission is to provide “Help, Healing, & Hope” to these children at our child-friendly center located in Elizabeth City.
