Details Join us for the 29th Annual Goldsboro YMCA Sprint Triathlon. The race will be held at the scenic Village of Walnut Creek, between Goldsboro and LaGrange.

The event consists of a 1/2 mile swim, 20 mile bike and 3 mile run.

Divisions are: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.

There will also be Athena, Clydesdale and team divisions.

Chip timing by Run the East LLC featuring times for all 3 splits. All participants will need to pick up and wear their assigned timing chip on race day. Ankle straps will be provided.

General Rules:
Check-in begins at 6:15 am at the race site.
No support teams allowed on course or transition area.
Course will close at 11 am. Awards ceremony following race.
All participants under age 18 must have parental consent.
Anyone dropping out of the race must report to a race official or any triathlon volunteer.
Course officials have ultimate and final authority to remove a participant from the race if rules have been violated.
Medical personnel have authority to disqualify racers if it is deemed that physical damage will be sustained.
Map to be included in race packet.
Participants are responsible for viewing courses prior to event.

Swim Rules:
Starting time is 7:30 am, with wave starts in five minute intervals.
No fins, snorkels or any flotation device is allowed. Goggles are allowed.
Wet suits will be permitted based on USAT rules. The water temperature will be taken race morning and a ruling on wet suits will be made at the pre-race meeting.
Swimmers must wear swim caps (furnished).
Body marking at transition area on race morning.

Bike Rules:
Water bottles recommended. No water stations on bike course.
Protective head gear is required during bike portion. No drafting other bikers or vehicles.
Minimum following distance: Bikes- 3 lengths behind; Automobiles- 100 yards
No support teams on course.
Cyclists are individually responsible for consequences of traffic law violations.
No headsets, headphones, etc.
Bar end plugs are required. Participants without bar end plugs will not be allowed to race.

Run Rules:
Three water stations provided- at race start, half-way out and turnaround.
Numbers furnished must be worn on your front side.
