|Details||The Run Like a Kid includes a 10K run, 5K run and family fun mile run. Proceeds benefit the Carteret County Partnership for Children and its programs. This year’s race proceeds go to the Reach Out and Read Program, a national program that supports doctors in their efforts to “prescribe” reading to young children and families in pediatric exam rooms. The program begins at the 6-month checkup and continues through age 5, with a special emphasis on children growing up in low-income communities. Each year Reach Out and Read North Carolina serves over 136,000 children at 153 clinics in North Carolina! Our theme will be storybook characters. So dress up as your favorite character and enjoy the beautiful coast of Morehead City while supporting a great cause.
10k participants travel from the downtown area of Morehead City, through the Promised Land and over the bridge to Atlantic Beach and return back to the starting point with plenty of great water views. 5k participants travel from the downtown area of Morehead City and through the Promised Land and back to the starting point with great waterfront views. The one mile course is an out and back along the waterfront of Morehead City.
